His education included Finance University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Yale University, Peoples' Friendship University of Russia and Yale World Fellows. His faith was Eastern Orthodoxy. He received 8 awards, including FP Top 100 Global Thinkers, Prize of the Platform of European Memory and Conscience. His cause of death was thromboembolism. He was buried at Borisovskoye Cemetery.
