Anatoly Kvashnin (* August 15, 1946 in Ufa; † January 7, 2022 in Moscow) was a former chief of the general staff of the armed forces of the Russian Federation. He was 75 years old. His education included Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia, Military Academy of Armored Forces, Kurgan State University and Kurgan Mechanical Engineering Institute. He received 4 awards, including Order "For Merit to the Fatherland", 2nd class, Order "For Merit to the Fatherland", 3rd class. His cause of death was COVID-19. He was buried at Federal Military Memorial Cemetery.
