Augusto Boal (* March 16, 1931 in Rio de Janeiro; † May 2, 2009 in Rio de Janeiro) was a brazilian writer. He was 78 years old. His education included Columbia University and Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. His awards include Prince Claus Award, Order of Cultural Merit (Brazil) and Guggenheim Fellowship. His cause of death was leukemia.
