Breyten Breytenbach (* September 16, 1939 in Robertson; † November 24, 2024 in Paris) was a south African writer and painter. He was 85 years old. His education included University of Cape Town and Michaelis School of Fine Art. He received 8 awards, including Reina Prinsen Geerligs prize, Eenmalige bijzondere prijs van de Jan Campert-stichting.
