Gennadi Strekalov (* October 26, 1940 in Mytishchi; † December 25, 2004 in Moscow) was a soviet and Russian cosmonaut and Ashoka Chakra recipient. He was 64 years old. He studied at Bauman Moscow State Technical University. He was awarded the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland", 3rd class. His cause of death was cancer. He was buried at Ostankino Cemetery.
