Biography
Gertrude B. Elion (* January 23, 1918 in New York; † February 21, 1999 in Chapel Hill) was an american biochemist and pharmacologist. She was 81 years old. Her education included Hunter College, New York University, New York University Tandon School of Engineering, Walton High School and Jamaica High School. She received 10 awards, including Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, National Women's Hall of Fame.
