Biography
Ilya Piatetski-Shapiro (* March 30, 1929 in Moscow; † February 21, 2009 in Tel Aviv) was a russian mathematician. He was 79 years old. His education included Moscow Pedagogical State University and MSU Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics. His awards include Guggenheim Fellowship, Israel Prize and Wolf Prize in Mathematics. He was buried at Kiryat Shaul Cemetery.
