Biography
Pierre-Gilles de Gennes (* October 24, 1932 in 16th arrondissement of Paris; † May 18, 2007 in Orsay) was a french physicist. He was 74 years old. His education included Lycée Claude-Bernard, École Normale Supérieure, Lycée Saint-Louis and Les Houches School of Physics. He received 10 awards, including CNRS Gold medal, Nobel Prize in Physics. His cause of death was cancer. He was buried at Cimetière de Montrouge.
