She had 2 children. Her education included Cornell University, Harvard Law School, Columbia Law School and James Madison High School. Her faith was Judaism. She received 6 awards, including National Women's Hall of Fame, honorary doctor of the Ohio State University. Her cause of death was pancreatic cancer. She was buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
