His education included Vladimir Ulyanov (Lenin) LETI Saint Petersburg State Electrotechnical University and Belarusian National Technical University. His faith was atheism. He received 6 awards, including Nobel Prize in Physics, Stuart Ballantine Medal. His cause of death was malignant hypertension. He was buried at Cemetery in Komarovo.
